It’s pretty exciting to be flying off to a trade show (especially in New York) and even more exciting when someone thinks me and my leafy textiles are worth sponsoring (thanks so much British Trade Association).

Bee Bowen is a textile designer who uses leaf-dyeing to create her uniquely patterned cloths. Pursuing new colours and techniques in eco-printing has taken her around the world, but in a brief period of calm, she spoke to Jessica Edney about her work:
Is it November already?
I’m busy in my studio, using up the last of the green leaves.

I'll be taking part in some fabulous Danish and English shows this (northern hemisphere) summer. Check out my 'events' page to see if I'll be popping up anywhere near you... Hope so! Look forward to meeting you! x
Join us for the Danish Design Festival 2018 when designers, craftsmen, thinkers, businesses and citizens meet to share their knowledge and passion for a sustainable future. Bring friends and family. There will be lots of creative workshops, talks, and activities for everyone. And of course I'll be there with my leaves and dye pot.
Come say 'Hej' if you're in the area :-)
I'm blown away (in more than a leafy Autumnal sense) to be stocking my botanically dyed scarves and one-off tops in the Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art in Kew Gardens. What better place for my leafy designs to be hanging out?!
HOT TIP! Don't miss the current exhibition. Rebecca Louise Law’s most intricate large-scale artwork of foraged flora is truly inspiring and on until 11 March 2018
Location
The Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art is next to Kew Explorer Stop 2, near the Temperate House and Pavilion Restaurant.
Opening times
Daily from 10am.
Until 1 January 2018 gallery closes at 3pm (last admission 2.45pm).
This has been keeping me a very busy Bee.... concepting, designing, sampling and shooting. It's been so much fun. And each piece is unique (as always).
All captured on a blustery day in June by the fabulous photographer/videographer Moana Barrosa, make-up artist @angiey_artstyle and beautiful models @monique_k, Angie Stasos and @iamborntobewild. Thanks ladies xxx
So stoked to have been chosen to exhibit 'Handmade' at Kew Royal Botanical Gardens, 12-15 October. My leaves will fit right in!
A buffet of colours is extracted from ingredients such as red cabbage, avocado, brown onions, Spanish onions and turmeric. The juices are then infused in the fabric using ancient Shibori methods to create designs that look good enough to eat.
If you wish to turn your garden, favourite spot or wedding bouquet into a piece of wearable memorabilia, I'd love to hear from you.
