Silk shawl: Japanese Maple

$250.00

The crisp outlines and delicate shape of a Japanese Maple (Acer) makes it one of my favourites. Colours vary from lush greens in spring to cool charcoal later in the year, with sharp definitions of veins crisscrossing the fabric’s warp and weft. With layered leaves, the prints are reminiscent of clusters of stars. So you feel immersed in a botanical universe.

Each scarf is unique and comes with a hand-rolled hem.

(L) Shawl: 210 x 55 cm (82 x 22 inches)

Similar pattern available in smaller eco print petite silk scarves (140 x 15 cm) and larger shawls (210 x 55 cm). While stocks last.

Due to the organic nature of my process, the scarf you receive may not be identical to the one you see in the photos. But this means no one else is wearing the same as you.

• 100% Silk
• Hand-rolled hems
• One-of-a-kind

100% HANDMADE
These botanical imprints have been captured from foraged flora. I took a little piece of nature, wrapped it carefully in silk and threw it into a bubbling cauldron, allowing the plant pigments to infuse into the warp and weft of the fabric. This technique is not only kind to the planet, but also celebrates the individuality in nature and all of us.

CARING FOR NATURAL DYES
• Gently hand wash in lukewarm water using a mild detergent and cool iron.
• Please do not dry clean as the chemicals used will affect the dyes.
• Eco printed textiles, like all fabrics, will fade over time if left in direct sunlight.
• Natural dyes are sensitive to citric acids (found in lemons, grapefruit, oranges, tomatoes etc) which can cause a bleaching effect on the colour.
