Silk petite scarf: Flaming Eucalyptus

$88.00

If there was a tree created for the purpose of natural dyeing, it’s Eucalyptus. When introduced to my pot, some varieties yield the colour of the earth they spring from. Daubs of orange, ruby and coral; botanical prints that are bright and full of mystery, just like Australia’s Red Centre.

Each scarf is one-of-a-kind and comes with a hand-rolled hem.

SIZE

(S) Petite: 140 x 15 cm (55 x 6 inches)

Similar pattern available in larger eco print silk scarves (210 x 27 cm) and shawls (210 x 55 cm). While stocks last.

Due to the organic nature of my process, the scarf you receive may not be identical to the one you see in the photos. But this means no one else is wearing the same as you.

DETAILS
• 100% Silk
• Hand-rolled hems
• One-of-a-kind

100% HANDMADE
These botanical imprints have been captured from foraged flora. I took a little piece of nature, wrapped it carefully in silk and threw it into a bubbling cauldron, allowing the plant pigments to infuse into the warp and weft of the fabric. This technique is not only kind to the planet, but also makes each piece unique. A celebration of individuality in nature and all of us. My little protest against fast fashion.

CARING FOR NATURAL DYES
• Gently hand wash in lukewarm water using a mild detergent and cool iron.
• Please do not dry clean as the chemicals used will destroy the dyes.
• Botanically dyed textiles, like all fabrics, will fade over time if left in direct sunlight.
• Natural dyes are sensitive to citric acids (found in lemons, grapefruit, oranges, tomatoes etc) which will ‘bleach’ the fibres.
